You might not know exactly what that means if you've never played Minecraft. I mean technically, you'd think of some sort of gross centipede creature, that I thought of posting a picture of, but then said naaah because that is just gross looking and sure as LLAMA won't be put in any of my posts.
NO, Silverfish are THESE LITTLE GUYS:

So here's how they work.
You're mining, all nice and safe in your cave or mineshaft, when you come across a particularly stubborn block of stone. Why is this happening, you might ask yourself? So you keep hitting it, bad idea, thinking it all coo, because you gantsa, AND THEN POPS OUT THE SILVERY BEAST FROM THE DEPTHS OF HADES! DA SILVAFEESH!
Normally, you find them in what's known as the Extreme Hills Biome, which is just means the more mountainous areas, but they can also be found anywhere if you dig deep enough. I LOVE building and mining in the mountains, so they are a natural enemy of mine.
The WONDERFUL thing about the silverfish though is that after it's been spawned, it begins to turn the stone blocks around it into silverfish after it is hit, which makes more silverfish, which then turns more blocks into stone as they are hit, and soon enough, you're facing a Silverfish Army! Then a short while after that, they build a society and shortly nuke themselves to death. Ain't that just the dandiest thing ever?!
What makes it even worse, is that should you be playing on single player mode, they'll just nest into nearby stone after you leave them, further ensuring that more chaos can be sown when you come back to claim whatever tunnels they've chased you out of.
Or.
OR.
This is a very important or.
Smell the or. BE the or!
This could happen and just really ruin your day:
Annnnd, that's the whole point of the blog post! Some evil mad genius used these little guys in a sick and twisted trap. I now have concerns for the future of humanity, that completely and totally were not present before, but fortunately it's not something that a nice cup of tea or a bowl of ice cream can't fix!
Just remember kiddies that when you bite into stone, that stone will get super pissed off and come after your whole family.
Lata!
The more evidence you give about the silverfish, the more they remind me of mosquitoes and flies. You kill one, and two more take its place. Perhaps this is more than just the result of a twisted mind. Unfortunately, because these do intimidate me, I will have my brothers play through this part when it arises.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Love the change from overall game play to specifics of the game!
